07 Jan Photoworks Award winners at Drawing Room from Saturday 10 January

Photoworks has announced the 2025 Jerwood/Photoworks Award winners – London-based Roman Manfredi and Margate-based Sayuri Ichida. The works will be presented as two solo shows alongside each other at Drawing Room from Saturday 10 January 2026. The artists’ works share reflections on broader society, attempting to depict what is not always visible. Using still and moving images, portraits, film and fragments, Roman journeys through Napoli. Ichida’s work, 空席 (Kūseki), meaning “empty seats”, addresses Japan’s rapid population decline using photography, collage, sound and sculptural installation.
