29 Jul Mourlot Lithographic Art Posters at Eames Fine Art

A new exhibition of art posters opens at Eames Fine Art on Saturday 1 August. It presents original hand-pulled lithographs produced at the legendary Atelier Mourlot in Paris and, in the 1960s, at their second Atelier in New York. Sometimes an artist chose one of the works from their forthcoming exhibition to become its poster; sometimes they designed something entirely new. These lithographic prints required close collaboration between artist and printer and are works of art in themselves. They were printed in small editions for specific galleries and exhibitions and so are rare finds.
