25 Apr Asda Express alcohol licence application for Tower Bridge Road

Asda has applied for an alcohol and late night refreshment licence for the Asda Express convenience store it plans to open in Tower Bridge Road. The address is given as 153 Tower Bridge Road – the shop previously occupied by Planet Organic.  The alcohol licence is for sales for consumption off the premises from 6am to midnight seven days a week.  Late night refreshments in the form of hot drinks for consumption on and off the premises are planned for 11pm- midnight, seven nights a week. BermondseyStreet.London would normally expect alcohol sales to start later and finish earlier in this residential area. We are also concerned about the potential impact on St Mary Magdalen park where late night drinkers may gather.
