Come along to the very first performance by the newly-formed Bermondsey Chamber Orchestra. Young world-class musicians who play regularly in top London orchestras have come together under the baton of Tania Mazetti to form this exciting ensemble. Tania is herself the Principal Second violin of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Also performing will be cello soloist Waynne Kwon.
The programme will include Haydn’s cello concerto number 1 in C major; Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances – Suite Number 3; and Mendelssohn’s String octet in E flat major.
The performance will start at 6pm on Sunday 23 March. The orchestra is working in partnership with St Mary Magdalen Church, rehearses in the church and will be performing there on the 23rd. St Mary Magdalen church is at 193 Bermondsey Street.
Tickets £5 on the door, proceeds to St Mary Magdalen Building fund. Stay on afterwards to meet the musicians over refreshments.
