09 Jul A new future for Guy Street Park – consultation Thursday 18 July
The community is hopeful that developers planning to build on the south side of Snowsfields will fund improvements to Guy Street Park. Guy Street Park is one of a cherished chain of green spaces that runs through our neighbourhood east-west Tanner – Leathermarket – Guy’s -Kings College quad AND south-north Mary Magdalen churchyard – Tanner – St John’s Horselydown – Potters Fields. These spaces are essential to local residents as well as people who work in the area or come to visit. From 2025/6 there will be many more people working in new buildings on St Thomas Street and Snowsfields and wanting to enjoy our open spaces.
As a first step, BOST (Bankside Open Spaces Trust) have been asked to run some meetings to gather input and ideas from local people – what we like about the park as it is now, what we would like to see there, how it can be changed to better deliver what people need and so on. There will be a public consultation in Guy Street park on Thursday 18 July 2-7pm. Do drop by and give your views.
