White Cube gallery surveys the trailblazing practice of American painter Al Held (1928–2005), ‘Al Held: About Space’ brings together masterworks from across the artist’s five-decade career and marks the first exhibition in Europe of Held’s late paintings. He was closely associated with the New York abstract expressionist movement, and was considered a leading figure of its second generation, though he developed his own interest in structure, volume and latterly, virtual space.
