22 Aug Art installation at Southwark Cathedral – peace doves
Southwark Cathedral is hosting Peace Doves, an extraordinary installation created by internationally acclaimed sculptor Peter Walker. It features thousands of paper doves decorated with messages of peace, written by visitors, school children, and community groups, and together they form a breathtaking installation that offers a serene space for contemplation and hope. The installation creates a sanctuary of quiet reflection. Over his 20-year career, that artist has developed a distinct voice in public and monumental art, creating powerful, reflective spaces that engage viewers and build connections across communities.
You can visit the display at Southwark Cathedral during normal cathedral opening times, except during religious services. It is free to visit, donations welcome. Southwark Cathedral is at London Bridge SE1 9DA. More here.
