10 May Calling young musicians – be recommended to leisure-time music groups

The Recommended Artists scheme is run by the umbrella organisation for leisure-time music groups, Making Music, based locally in Holyrood Street. Inclusion as a Recommended Artist makes it easier for leisure-time music groups and promoters to book young musicians to perform. There are nearly 4000 Making Music member groups. Many run at least two concerts a year and they often need professional soloists or musicians to sing/play with them. It’s a great opportunity for a young professional to gain more experience and a wider network. Artists are assessed against carefully-considered criteria by the Making Music listening team. If successful, young musicians will be included in the Recommended Artists Guide to be launched in 2024.
