Changes to the Snowsfields Quarter planning application

The Council is offering a further opportunity to comment on the Snowsfields Quarter planning applications in view of the extent of the recent changes to the proposals. However, We❤️Snowsfields is disappointed to report that our community input has been almost completely ignored. The developer’s own transport plans reveal that Kipling Street will be closed for long periods, the C14 cycle route will be closed for up to 4 years, blue badge parking will be removed, and large construction vehicles will be moving through local streets; going over pavements; and forcing the removal of street furniture, the wonderful Tree of Heaven outside the Miller pub and other street trees.

Despite all the work We❤️Snowsfields has done to agree a costed plan to improve Guy Street Park and nearby estates like Hamilton Square, the developer has failed to commit adequate funding in the draft Section 106 agreement. Neither has the developer applied any of the minor design changes to windows and terraces that could reduce local damage from noise, overlooking etc.

The application is expected to come before Planning Committee for approval/refusal on Wednesday 10 September. If you want to add your own voice, you have till Sunday 31 August to object here
