The latest from Mace, the construction contractor on St Thomas Street…..

“We have reached the stage in construction where our Tower Crane 2 (TC2) adjacent to Weston Street needs to once again be adapted (climbed) to support on-going works. To comply with TFL, Network Rail and Local Authority requirements, works must be undertaken outside of our normal working hours with supporting road closures as follows:
Saturday 27th July: TC2 climb. Weston Street closed 7am to 7pm. Works undertaken 8am to 6pm.
Sunday 28thth July: TC2 climb. Weston Street closed 7am to 7pm. Works undertaken 8am to 6pm.

Tower crane operations will be visible but will not create dust or vibration; there will be some very short periods of audible noise beyond the site boundary during climbs when crane erectors use hammers to drive fixing pins between mast sections. Wider construction operations on Saturday 28th July will continue as normal between licensed hours of 9am and 4pm.
