05 Jul Construction sites on St Thomas Street – progress and plans
From the developers’ latest newsletter about progress and plans at the Greystar Chapter Living and the Edge sites on St Thomas Street….
Chapter Living Structure and facades are complete on levels 4-31: five more levels of accommodation to build 32-36. Levels 37-40 will be stepped back and are for plant and amenity space. Internal fit-out is underway, first some benchmark units on level 4 and then extending up to level 24. The crew are waiting for the right weather conditions to extend the crane upwards. UK power networks are confirming plans for connections in Melior Street and Fenning Street. Expected project completion Q3 2025
Edge Basements down to level -3 have been dug, one more level to go. Melior Street and Fenning Street are in use as a one way system to support the bulk excavation. Look out for the clamshell gantry system which will be used in this work. The rest of work on the cores above ground will use a jump-form system. Over the coming month the 4 diagonal columns supporting the level 4 slab will be constructed. Expected project completion Q3 2026.
Cabin facilities on Melior Street have been superbly decorated with painting and plants by children from Snowsfields Primary. There are local resident meetings on the last Friday of every month 8.30am at the Mace Project Office 111 Snowsfields SE1 3ss.
