Consultations on Developments – how they should happen

Southwark Council is consulting on minor amendments to its guidance on how community and other stakeholders should be consulted on when it comes to proposed developments. There are three parts to the consultation:

  • Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) – identifies opportunities for residents to comment on plans, policies and decisions
  • Development Consultation Charter (DCC) – part of the SCI that says how developers of schemes over 10 homes should engage with the local community at every stage
  • Supporting templates completed by developers including the Early Engagement Strategy, Engagement Summary and Equalities Impact Assessment.

More on the link here about the documents and how to comment. Statement of Community Involvement and Development Consultation Charter: Annual Review and Updates   The consultation is open until Monday 10th February 2025.

BermondseyStreet.London will be sharing its thoughts with the Council. Input always welcome, so if you have ideas about how consultation on major developments should be improved, please email hello@bermondseystreet.london.
