02 May Corona Quilt exhibition Wednesday 28-Thursday 29 May
In March 2020, local lawyer and keen quilter, Richard Kenyon kicked off a Corona Quilting Project to link people together and make something beautiful during lockdown. The opportunity was passed on by word of mouth, and amazing, creative, and enthusiastic contributions began arriving by post from destinations as far afield as Chile and the Cayman Islands. The resulting seven quilts have never before been exhibited together.
The quilts will be on display to the public on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 May 2025 from noon at Poulet cocktail and wine bar, 37 Maltby Street SE1 3PA.
There has been coverage of the exhibition in the Evening Standard https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/zandra-rhodes-princess-freddie-mercury-wales-diana-b1225082.html For more examples of Richard’s work, see https://www.instagram.com/calicoprintersclerk/
