On Friday 26 September, a new exhibition opens at the Fashion & Textile Museum, called Costume Couture. It presents a rich selection of film and TV costumes produced by a firm called Cosprop, founded in the 1960s by John Bright. The costumes here come from all the great period films and TV shows from the 1960s onwards – to name just a few, Charge of the Light Brigade, War and Peace, Room with a View, Evita, The French Lieutenant’s Woman, Tess, Passage to India, Out of Africa, Poirot, Pride and Prejudice, Downton Abbey, Peaky Blinders and Game of Thrones. The fabrics are wonderful, as is the design and making.
