11 Apr Eames Print Room shows Roantree and Kummattumal from Wednesday 17 April

From Wednesday 17 April you will be able to see the amazing fantasy landscapes of Roantree and Kummatummal. Chris Roantree and Akarsh Kummattummal are a London-based collaborative duo focused on printmaking. Together they create wondrous, unsettling and beguiling images of imagined, re-wilded landscapes. This exhibition is entitled Brink and the Fold: A New Landscape. They say “We were brought up with disaster movies, emerging technologies, special effects, and comic books, we now combine these popular culture influences with a deep respect, or love, for landscape – which has generally been a reoccurring theme for artists for hundreds of years.  I suppose that when you consider all the different influences that made us in terms of our visual upbringing, we were never going to make typical landscape images.”
