South London Mission (SLM) are running historical tours in July as part of a a project called ‘Rediscovering South London Mission’. SLM opened in 1899 and has played an important role in the neighbourhood, offering support, sanctuary, and a place for innovation and transformation. In the early 20th century, it was the venue for talks by radical national politicians, addressing audiences of hundreds of people. These tours are part of a programme of activities to help SLM transform their community space into a vibrant hub for community engagement and innovation. SLM is at 256 Bermondsey Street SE1 3UQ.
