Excitement builds for the Bermondsey Street Festival

Saturday 21 September will see this year’s Bermondsey Street Festival take over the street and neighbouring Tanner Street Park and Leathermarket Gardens from 11am till 7pm. As usual it will be a great celebration of community, cuisine, crafts, music and more. This year the festival is being organised by a new crew led by Gena Johns from London Glassblowing and a new team of volunteers. Gena says: “Saving the festival has brought the street even closer together. It has really highlighted how incredible Bermondsey Street is. We have an extraordinary collection of businesses, from charming boutiques, art galleries and restaurants to cosy cafes and bars, each adding to its unique character and vibrant atmosphere. Every business has its own individual and unique story. It’s been such a pleasure to work as a collective and bring it all together.” Alongside the festival, there will be a family fun day in St Mary Magdalen Churchyard, run by St Mary’s church.

maypole…dog show…kids’ karaoke…wellness corner…local artisans…DJ sets and live music…t-shirt drawing…glassblowing…street food…local beer from the local beer mile…local gin…oysters…pizza…mac’n’cheese…and much, much more, of course.
