16 Sep Guided walk by the river on Thames Day – Sunday 22nd September
Thames Estuary Partnership, as part of the Thames Day, will be leading a ‘captivating guided walk exploring the rich environmental history of London’s iconic river.’ The leader will delve into the transformation of the Thames and its surroundings as London grew, examining the decline and resurgence of its aquatic life and envisioning its future as a restored urban river teeming with diverse habitats and species. The walk will take in London Bridge, Hay’s Galleria, HMS Belfast, Tower Bridge, The Tower, Old Billingsgate, the Lower Thames Street and Church of Saint Magnus-the-Martyr. The start point at 1pm on Sunday 22 September will be in front of Fishmongers Hall, and the end point at 3pm will be by the Church of St Magnus the Martyr on the north bank with short stops in between.
