Invest local climate projects for a 4.1% pa return

Southwark Council has an ambitious strategy to make our air cleaner, our borough greener and lives healthier  – and be carbon neutral by 2030. Part of the programme  is to encourage local people to invest in the necessary changes and it has now opened its fourth request for funding. The funding will be used for a range of climate projects from innovative heat pumps on council estates to replacing street lights with LEDs. To accelerate its work, the council seeks to raise £6m in total of which £2.5m has been raised in earlier funding rounds.

This is an opportunity to invest funds, from as little as £5, for five years for a 4.1% pa return. The opportunity closes on 1 March 2006. The Esmee Fairbairn Foundation will invest matched funding for every £ raised from the community. More  here.
