21 Mar Mozart Requiem – with choir and orchestra at St James church, free to attend

RBCS the long-established local community choir for Bermondsey and Rotherhithe, will present the famous Mozart’s Requiem on Saturday 23 March at 7.30pm at St James’ church. The community choir will sing with professional soloists and chamber orchestra, a real treat to have live classical music in our neighbourhood. Mozart died tragically young in the middle of composing the Requiem. Other musicians stepped in, after his death, to complete the work as faithfully as they could. The performance will be conducted by Sue Heath Downey, local organist and Musical Director of the choir. The performance will be free to attend. St James’ church is on Thurland Road SE16 4AA, tucked behind the Gregorian pub on  Jamaica Road.
