New Art exhibition at Forma, Bermondsey Square

A new exhibition opens  at the Forma space at Bermondsey Square on Thursday 2 October, called Strike| the mark that feeds the score| surface as notation. The exhibition is the work of Hannan Jones and Shamica Ruddock, a collaboration between Forma, Wysing Arts Centre and Knotenpunkt, the which continues the duo’s investigations into how we communicate and convene through sound. For the first time, they explore how rhythm, memory and identity shift across histories and geographies, turning their focus to musical notation, its conventions, limits and possibilities. They deconstruct the drum and the bell – instruments made of wood, hide and metal, which have shaped the foundation of rhythmic composition – to reimagine a score in material form.

Forma is at 15 Bermondsey Square. You can see the exhibition 24/7. More here.
