09 Oct Paul Catherall’s Less is More at Eames from Thursday 16 October

Paul Catherall’s latest exhibition at the Eames Fine Art Gallery opens on Thursday 16 October. It is titled Less is More. In Paul’s own words: “This show marks a return to a mantra I’ve found myself using time and again over the years – the notion that, in design, ‘less is more’.” Paul has made himself a master of embellishing linocuts with detail, texture and layers of colour. But in this exhibition, he returns to a simpler aesthetic from his earlier years, which he has found enormously satisfying. He has enjoyed returning to a pared down way of creating prints, and probably not by coincidence, he has also returned to some of his favourite compositions and subjects, which you may recognise!
