This landmark Grade II-listed building at the heart of Bermondsey Street is the subject of a planning application to turn it into 4 flats. The building has been empty for some years, squatted for a period, and out of bounds for the removal of asbestos, so it is good that there is now a plan to bring it back into use. Although the last recorded use for the site was commercial, efforts to let the space for offices have been unsuccessful and the owner has now put together a scheme to turn it into four flats. This scheme preserves and refurbishes the iconic frontage including the blue timber fourth storey, and some historic internal fittings such as fireplaces.
