15 Nov Potters Fields Park – replanting

Potters Fields Park’s redesign in 2008 by GROSS MAX was influenced by renowned Dutch plantsman Piet Oudolf.  Oudolf’s designs are celebrated for their use of herbaceous perennials, grasses and other plants chosen for shape. Potters Fields Park was the first London park to introduce ‘prairie planting’ – a landscaping style that relies on sweeping grasses. Alongside the wild planting of ‘Culvers Root’ and ‘Lambs Ear’ the beds provide a visually arresting display throughout the year.  Nearly 20 years since first planting, and given climate change, the Trust that runs the park has decided to replant with a drought-tolerant mix of plants.
