23 Feb Safer Neighbourhood – Positive Activity Initiative on Bermondsey Street

Our Safer Neighbourhood Team works to minimise crime and disorder in our area. The team will be delivering a range of crime-prevention and police-led activities, involving the Met Police, London Safety Centre volunteers and council wardens. The aim is to improve the feeling of safety for residents and businesses and to develop a closer relationship between the community and the local policing team. The Initiative will begin on Monday 26 February 12-4pm when the local police team will be knocking on as many doors as possible asking for opinions about crime and policing. On Thursday 29 February 1-5pm, the team will visit local businesses to spread the word about the Business Watch scheme. There will be more activities in the following two weeks. In the background, the team will be carrying out reassurance patrols and weapons sweeps.
