MACE, the contractor writes to explain that there will be street closures and width restrictions over the weekend of Saturday 23-Sunday 24 March to enable the erection of the second tower crane on the EDGE construction site on St Thomas Street. The erection of the crane is dependent on favourable wind speeds & weather, so plans may change closer to the time.

MACE tells us they will be working 8am-4pm on both days. The new crane will be erected at the south-west corner of the site. Materials for the new crane will arrive on Saturday via St Thomas Street. Test weights and smaller ancillary materials will be delivered and collected on Sunday. The crane will be about 50m tall initially, to be extended later using a climbing frame system. The vehicles will be large, and for safety there will exclusion zone barriers and road closures in adjacent areas.
