09 May Target Design for Guy Street Park

After many rounds of consultation, the target re-design for Guy Street Park has been finalised. The work was commissioned by community group has We❤️Snowsfields, took input from a revitalised Friends of Guy Street Park group, was funded by the Snowsfields Quarter developer, managed by BOST (Bankside Open Spaces Trust) and carried out by Exterior Architecture, based on Leathermarket Street. Clear messages came through in the many consultations: people want the park to make a real contribution to health, nature and the community and the target re-design achieves all of those. We❤️Snowsfields sees the improvements to the park as one of the most important ways of mitigating the damage that the proposed Snowsfields Quarter developments would, if approved, do to the local environment and communities.

Implementation depends on funding negotiations between Southwark Council and the Snowsfields Quarter developer, and the granting of planning permission for Snowsfields Quarter.
