03 Sep Thames oldest rowing race – Doggett’s Coat and Badge wager

In this annual rowing race, now in its 311st year, three competitors row single sculls in a test of strength, skill and endurance. 2025’s race will take place on Wednesday 10 September. The water of the Thames flows fast and the 7.5km course is truly a challenge. The event is organised by by two City Livery companies – The Fishmongers and the Watermen & Lightermen, with former Doggett’s winner and current record-holder, Bobby Prentice, as umpire. The event begins from London Bridge on Wednesday 10 September at 11.30 am, with the race itself starting at 12.15 pm and heading upstream to Cadogan Pier in Chelsea. More here.
