15 Aug Tree Protection Orders for plane trees in Guy Street Park

There is some good news to share from We♥️Snowsfields about Guy Street Park. Local people have been very concerned that the demolition of the NCP car park on Snowsfields and the building of a ten storey block on the perimeter of the park will seriously damage the historic plane trees on its northern boundary. Consequently an application was made for these trees to be assigned a Tree Protection Order (TPO) which will enable the Council to ensure that demolition and construction do not put the trees at risk. Some of that work will be funded by the developer. BermondseyStreet.London has been supporting the We ♥️Snowsfields campaign for local needs to be recognised in the proposed Snowsfields Quarter development scheme, so well done, all concerned in securing those TPOs. The scheme is expected to be approved/rejected at Planning Committee in September.
