10 Jul Trivet and 40 Maltby Street in UK’s Top 100 Restaurants
Five restaurants in Southwark have made it onto the National Restaurant Awards top 100 restaurants in the UK, including two in our neighbourhood, how fabulous!
Housed within Gergovie Wines, 40 Maltby Street, is a wine bar whose delicious small plates secured it a place on the list. The menu changes regularly, fresh fish, vegetables and terrines celebrate the seasonal produce of the UK and mainland Europe. The wine bar was opened a year later in 2011 by Raef Hodgson and his business partner Harry Lester.
Trivet, at 36 Snowsfields opened in 2018, a solo project by The Fat Duck alumni Jonny Lake and Isa Bal. It has two Michelin-stars for its delectable menu exploring ingredients, dishes and drinks from regions around the world.
The National Restaurant Award’s yearly list of the best places to eat in the UK was published last month.
