We❤Snowsfields, a group of committed locals, has submitted a powerful response to the developer’s planning application for the south side of Snowsfields between Crosby Row and Weston Street. BermondseyStreet.London has supported We❤Snowsfields, to help shape a development scheme that will be good for everyone. However, now the nearly 4000 pages of planning application (25/AP/0772) are available, there remain some clear showstoppers:
- the damaging impact on vulnerable Guy’s Hospital patients of the loss of the NCP and blue badge parking with no deliverable alternatives
- wholly inadequate plans for handling high volumes of large construction vehicles through our exceptionally congested and narrow streets
- unacceptably tall buildings with negative impacts on the area, including on the neighbouring Bermondsey Street conservation area, and which clearly breach Southwark Council’s own requirement that heights should step down next to lower rise areas.
Read the community summary here . To find out more go to http://www.southwark.gov.uk , access the planning register, search for reference 25/AP/0772 and look at the comments. BermondseyStreet.London will submit its own objections to the scheme, in support of We❤Snowsfields.
