27 Aug Doggett’s race on the Thames Wednesday 2 September

The race, which has run nearly every year since 1715, tests the mettle of rowers. It started as a test of young watermen’s and lightermen’s strength and endurance and is now just for fun! It will start at 1.15pm on Wednesday 2 September at London Bridge and run through central London to Cadogan Pier. Chelsea. The race is organised by the City Company of Watermen and Lightermen, and the Company of Fishmongers. More  here.
