In response to residents’ complaints about an encampment in Guy Street Park involving drug use, drinking, noise and rowdy behaviour, our local police team took action which led to the removal of the camp. This required several visits by our local police team, who explained the problem and offered campers a range of support services, all refused. Southwark Council’s Parks department were asked to issue an eviction order. Continued complaints led to a further attempt to get them to leave. And leave they finally did. Many thanks to the Met Police for following through on this. Guy Street Park is once again a peaceful place for residents and visitors to enjoy.
