13 Aug Hamish Macaulay at Eames from Thursday 20 August
Distant Shores, at the Eames Fine Art Gallery from Thursday 20 August, brings together a beautiful new collection of original paintings and monotypes by New Zealand artist Hamish Macaulay. His work is inspired by the ever-changing skies and coastlines of the Kāpiti Coast in New Zealand. Hamish captures those fleeting moments when sea, sky and light become one. His imagined horizons, radiant turquoise waters, glowing twilight skies and delicate metallic highlights create paintings that feel calm, uplifting and full of optimism. Hamish combines vibrant acrylic paint and subtle gel-plate monotype printing to build remarkably rich surfaces. Metallic pigments catch the light.
