27 Jun Live music at St Mary’s church – Fridays 27 June and 4 July

This Friday and next, there is live music scheduled in St Mary’s church:

• Friday 27 June at 7pm – An evening of inspiration and music with international cellist Andy Kim. Andy has many years’ experience of performing chamber music, teaching and collaborating with eminent artists, including Yo Yo Ma. Since 2005 he has been a ‘missionary cellist’ frequently travelling to Peru to play for communities in remote towns and villages. He has also toured to Beijing, Lanzhou, Xian, Urumqi, Kashgar and Almaty and performed in fundraisers for peace. His cello is a remarkable survivor, made around 1699.
• Friday 4 July at 7.30pm – Evensong: a peaceful service of prayer and contemplation with music from the English choral tradition, once again sung by the Matthaeus Consort.
