18 Dec Cyclist meet-up likely on Saturday 20 November at Potters Fields Park

Team London Bridge has sent out a security alert about an unauthorised cycling event, which is being promoted on social media. It is scheduled for Saturday 20 December from about 1pm, at Potters Fields Park. TLB does not support the event and the Park has not approved it. Based on previous similar events, the Met Police believe that over 400 young cyclists may gather at the Park and in the London Bridge area and later set off towards Stratford. If the meeting goes ahead, police warn of increased risk of anti-social behaviour, theft and shop-lifting. There may be some spill-over to streets south of the railway viaduct. Police advice is to take special care about security and report any incidents by phone on 999 (emergencies) or 111. Retail businesses may want to brief staff to be vigilant.
